Special Memory Care accommodations are closely associated with the Medical and Wellness Center on the IMH property. There is a growing need for specialized care and housing tailored to the special needs of individuals with Alzheimer's or related dementia. At IMH, our Special Care community offers care that fosters residents' individual skills and interests in an environment that helps to diminish confusion and agitation. Services are provided in a secure environment. Activity programs include reality orientation classes. Specially trained professionals are skilled in handling the behavior associated with memory impairments. Our building design has features that assist with the complications associated with this disease: open hallways, visual cues, and secure wandering paths for additional security.
In our special care community, we offer assistance with dressing, grooming, bathing, and other daily activities, as well as assistance with medications. Meals, laundry and housekeeping are provided within private and semi-private rooms in a "home-like" setting. |
