Short-Term Rehabilitation

The Indiana Masonic Home is a premier provider of short-term rehabilitation care. Short-term rehabilitation is normally prescribed for those in need of extensive nursing and therapeutic care/services following an in-patient, acute care hospitalization. Good candidates for short-term rehabilitation are those with recent hip fractures, CVA (stroke), amputations, joint replacements, wound care, pain management, certain neurological impairments or other lengthy or medically complicated illnesses.

At the Indiana Masonic Home, short-term rehabilitation is provided in the Transitional Care Unit (TCU). The Transitional Care Unit is a dedicated, 11-bed unit designed to be a bridge between in-patient, acute care hospitalization and home (or a lower level of care) where recuperation and the restoration of functional independence is the primary goal. The unique size of the Transitional Care Unit insures personalized care, attention to detail, and an exact focus on your personal health care needs.

In the Transitional Care Unit, your care will be approached from a multi-disciplinary perspective where close collaboration between each of your professional caregivers will be directed according to a plan of care in which you and your family are instrumental.
Throughout, your care will be supervised by a board certified physician and eagerly provided by a staff of well trained, caring, and compassionate caregivers. You can be assured that at the Indiana Masonic Home, your independence rather than dependence is a top priority.
